wit is unquestionably one of the most attractive and brilliant events of the racing year opens at Auckland on June 2 with the winter meeting of the Auckland Racing Club. The course at Ellerslie takes rank as probably the most beautiful and picturesque in the
Dominion, the grounds being quite unrivalled jin their attractiveness. The managebent of the club has always had before it the ideal of a beautiful setting for the king of sports, and has steadfastly concentrated on that ideal. ISTENERS and followers of the sport generally will be glad .to know that permission has been given for a description of the races to be undertaken. This will be greatly appreciated by country residents who are unable to personally attend the meeting.
