ADVISORY COMMITTEE SET UP ee An enthusiastic gathering of representatives of organisations interested in child welfare was held at the Radio Lroadcasting Company’s studio on‘Tuesday atternoon, A committee to be known as the 38YA Children’s Ses-. sions Advisory Committce was formed, and Mr. D. WB. Parton was elected to the chair for the e¢nsuing — twelve months. Miss M, Tall, local orgauniser of the children’s sessions at SYA, Was appointed secretary, Those present were: Mrs. Norton Francis and Mrs. R. Wallwork, representing {he Parents’ National Iducational Union ; Miss Cardale, represent. ing the Soc iety for the of Women and Children; Mrs. W. Machin, representing the National Council of Wonen; Major Ashworth, representing the’ Boy Scouts: Mr. Clarke, representing the Head Masters’ Assoc littion: Brother Hendricke, representing the Marist Brothers ; the Rev Frederick Rule, representing the Presbyterian Orphanages ; Mr. H. Bannehr, representing the Anglican Orphanages ; Mr. G. D. Diekson, representing ihe ’Scottish Society ; Unele Sam, Unele Jacek, Chuckle, Big Brother, Aunt May, Mother Hubbard of BYA; Mr. Ly. Slade, station director of BYA; Mrs. A. R. Hall, Principal of the Children’s De--partment of the Radio Broadcasting $ administrative staff. Apologies were received from Miss A. M, Bentham of the Y¥.
