THE "ARIEL SINGERS." Personnel: Miss Jeanette Briggs (soprano), Miss Ngaire Coster (mez: 7) soprano), Mr. Roy Mill (tenor), Mr. J, M. Caldwell (bass). ‘he ‘‘Ariel Singers" will make their debut from 2¥A on Friday, January 18, when they are presenting a miscellaneous programme to suit all tastes, ‘Two very popular items will be a bass solo, "The Pride of ‘Tipperary, and a quartet, "Hey, Diddle Diidte.’" This talented and promising quartet are very anxious _ to give the listening public the kind ef music they most cujoy, and will welcome any suggestions aud criticisms. A second recital will be given on Februaty 38, when works by modern English composers will be the chief feature, THE ETUDE QUARTET. F Personnel; Miss Gretta Stark (so: prano)), Miss Rita Arnold (cone tralto), Mr. Frank Skinner (tenor), Mr. Ray Kemp (varitone). Another quartet of fitst-class talent and ability will be heard from 2YA on Moudcay January 9, in "ar Away" (Irs. J. Worthington Bliss), Old Black Joe,’ and other popular numbers, ‘They will also siug duets and solos, of which "Flarbour Lights’ aud "A Night in Venice’? will meet with a warm reception. These singets are under the direction of Mr. Leu Barnes, who is responsible for their excellent training, On January 10 an exceptionally good number, "Comrades in Arms," will be given by the Orpheus Quartet, whose melodious efforts are so widely appreciated. The William Renshaw Quartet have three specially beautiful numbers for January 8. "G Gladsome Light,’ from "The Golden Tegend’’; ‘How Lovely are the Messengers," from "St. Paul’; eng " ¥re the Silver Lamps are Lighted.’"’ The programme presented on January 7 by the members of the Celeste Quartet will eusure an evening’s musical enjoyment. ‘Down in the Cane Brake’"’ aud "Carry Me Back to Old Virgiuny" are among their numbers, The solo items of the Melodie Four are of the same high standard as their concerted work. ‘These four artists, who make such an admirable comlination will again delight all listeners on Saturday, January 14, In accordance with last week’s announcement, the staff of the Bristol Piano Company, Lid., Wellington, will five a studio concert from 2YA on Januardy 12 to commemorate the opening of the company’s new preinises. ‘here is much talent of no mean gegree distributed among these performers, and listeners wili fully realise their expectatiotis, .
