The first radio valve, which was invented in 1904 by Professor lleming, an Englishman, possessed only a filament and a plate. This was improved upon by Dr. Lee De Forest, an Ameriean, in 1907, who added the grid to the valve. This improved valve has tfemained to this day in practically its original form.
