We heard a great deal about thé Indian Broadcasting Company’s supete power broadcasting stations at Cals cutta and Bombay. We were led to believe they were giant-voiced. transe mitters, It now transpires, according to the company’s own official organ that the stations at Bombay and Cale cutta are of only 3000 watts power. According to the "Indian. Radio Times,’’ Indian standard time is. 6 hours 9 minutes behind New Z aland time. This means that when it is 8 o’clock in the evening in india it is nine minutes past 2 in the morning in New Zealand. TCA, Calcutta (870,4 metres) commences its evening pra granmines generally at 7.45 p.m. (Itt. dian time) on week days, and at 6.30 p.m, on Sundays the church serviced commence, followed by a musical pro« gramme. The Bombay broadcast station, TBY¥ (877. metres), on week days commeiuces the evening programmes ~ af 6.380 o’clock (Indian time), and there is an interval from 8 p.ni. till 9 p.m, when tlhe concert is renewed.
