In some regenerative receiving sets, if the operater’s hand is placcd near the dials, it causes howling or detunces the set. This is termed ‘body capacitv," and is due to the fact that any conductor brought near the set forms ene plate of a condenser, and thus changes the tuning of the st. This is prevented by using a shielded dialt or hy‘placing sheets of metal on the inside of the panel and attaching the metal to the earth terminal, Somce times the trouble is causer by ellowing the vatve to oscillate.
