3° er eaeewse A DIFFICULT PROBLEM. "Fading" is probably more intense in Victoria than in New Zeaived, The Melbourne ‘‘Herald" says: ‘We know that sienals from the Melbeurne station, 8LO, have been heard in -Canada and America, and even in Janan, but this is ‘peak’ reception. We also know that at times in the western dis-_ trict of Victoria it is impossible to | receive, intelligiblv, even a portion of | the Melbourne programme. In certain varts of Gippsland (Victoria) it seems impossible to receive 81,0 at all at times. and in some n-rthern parts of’ the State inter-State proerammes furnish most of the entertainment." New Zealanders who grumble at fading of 2YA, Wellineton, in certain districts of the Dominion, shonld hy now realise that this hbuehear of broadcast reception is a serions nroblem in all naris of the world.
