Interesting lectures for ladies will be given at 2YA on each afternoon of this week ‘They relate, of course, to home decorations, cooking, end fashions. Mr. Bernard Joyce, Gisplay manager for Messts. James Sniith Ltd., speaks at 2YA. on Monday afternoon on ‘Colour Harmony: in the Home." Miss Nora Gray, a pupil of Mr. Gordon Short, oye of Wellington's leading teachers, appears at 2YA on Monday in vocal and _ pianoforte items. Miss Gray has previously been heard from 2Y¥A, her contri« butions meeting with marked ap: proval. Besides being a pianiste, She is also the possessor of a pleas: ig soprane voice, which she uses with ood judgment, and finished artistry. Mrs. P. J. Townley, who is to sing at 2YA on Monday, is a mezzo-contralto with a cultured voice of good quality Mrs. Townsley has twice previously been heard from 2YA. She specialises more or less in classical numbers. Mr. Claude Tucker is one of Wellington’s leading flautists. He has also faced the micraplione at 2YA on several eccasions, and his items haye been invariably well received. Mr. Tucker is a member of several of the city’s leading orchestras, and is a player of recognised ability. He will on Monday at ry present two most atéractive numers, The Wellington Ladies’ Trio--Miss Nora Gray (soprano), Mrs. P. J. Townley (ist contralto), and Miss Moily Fenton (2nd contralto) -are Vocalists who have won dis: tinction on the cOncert platform, in both solo and concerted work. Together they form a delightful combination, ag all listaners in to 2YA on Monday will realise. Mr. Pargetter, baritone, is an experienced concert singer, and his welltrained light haritone voice will be faund very acceptable ‘fon the air’ in a series of snecially-sclected sulus at 2YA on Monday. Mr. Desmond Lavin, violinist, soloist to the Wellington Vrofessional Orcliestra, and a well-known performer on the concert platform, will contribute two of the most popular numbers from his extensive repertoire at ZYA on Monday‘ Mr. Albert Loadmau, tenor soloist, who sings at 2YA on Monday, will be well remembered by lisfeners-in to 2YK. He has figured prominently in the Wellington Competitions. Mr. Stanley Warwick, elocutionist, is an artist whose standing both as a teacher and 1s an eutertainer is well known throughout New Zealand. Mr. Warwick has adjudicated at competitions at yarious centres. Fle will be heard from 2YA on Monday. Lieut. Gordon Burt, RN., will continue his series of lecturettes on Polar Itxploration-his topic on Monday evening being ‘Thrilling Uxperiences with Polar Bears."
Miss Moliy Fenton, a cultured contralto, has been heard "over the air’ from 2YA on various occasions, and may be relied on to give an artistic. presentation of ter selected numbers on Monday. Mr. Preston Dilling’s talks on ‘‘Radio" will be continued at 2YA on Monday. "The Giant Vorce---Gravity’"? will he the subject for the next of the series of talks now being given at 2YA by Mr. N. R. Jacobsen on natural science. Mrs. TF. i. Kelly, whois to sing at 2YA on Tuesdav, specialises in classical ballads. She has a well-trained mezzo-coutralto voice. | Miss Lottie Rastall, a young elocutionist, and Miss L. Rosen: thal, soprano, will apvear for the first time in radio at 2YA on Tues: day. Mr. Leo. Power, clarinet soloist, who has played with success on the concert platform, will be ‘ton the air’’ at 2YA on Tuesday. Mr. W. W.
