MR. F. R. HAWKER, OF 3YA. A fine bass soloist—a prizes-winner at the 1927 Christchurch Competitions —Mr. Hawker commenced singing under Mr. Hall-Johnstone, of New Plymouth, in 1914. He was that year a member of the New Plymouth Amateur Operatic Society, and took part in the production of "San Toy" and "The Mikado."
