LISTENERS’ LEAGUE
The committee of the Canterbury Haisteners’ League met on Wedtesday evening, the president, Mr. K, M. Greswou, presiding, Considerable discussion took place ou a remit sent forward for support from the Auckland Listeners’ League which read’ as follows: ‘"fhat the executive of the Auckland Listeners’ League recommends to the PostmasterGeneral that, with a view of suppressing the interference with broadcasting Yeception due to oscillating and radiatang receiving sets, the use of a stage of: neutralised radio frequency amplification on all regenerative valve receiving Sets covering the ordinary broadcasting and of wave-lengths is urgently needd, aud should be made compulsory." fler a long discussion it was decided to refer the question to the Technical Committee for a report. , he secretary reported that so far he fiad not received a reply to a letter asxing for various information from the Post Office, only an acknowledgment being so far to hand. ‘This letter was set so as to get some idea as to the fluties of the radio inspectors, and with & view of assisting the latter in suppressing oscillating valves, etc., A letter was received from a Wellington committee setting out rules for a Wew Zealand © Listeners’ League, . to Which it is proposed to affiliate all listeners’ leagues in the Dominion, and Suggesting a conference of delegates to meet in Wellington at an early date. fhe meeting decided to leave the matter in abeyance, as attendance of delegates would entail some expense. Members pointed out that there was tio hurry to join up, as so far the matter was only in the proposal stage. After a sub-committee had been set &p to consider a proposal to hold an exhibition the meeting terminated.
