WELLINGTON BRANCH. Students' Competition No. 4. (limited to Students attached to the Wellington Branch only). Two book prizes, first value £3 35., second value £1 is., will be awarded to the successful competitors in the following competition : Subject. —A shaded drawing from Architectural Cast. The Carrara Ceiling Co., of Riddiford Street, Wellington, have very kindly consented to lend a cast for this subject and allow students to attend at their factory during working hours to make their drawings. : Drawing. —The drawing to be on one sheet of Imperial size Whatman's, mounted on strawboard, and may be finished in any desired medium. Time. —Drawings to be sent in addressed to the District Secretary, Wellington Branch, N.Z.1.A., 7 Woodward Street, Wellington, under a nom de -plume, accompanied by a sealed envelope marked with nom de plume on outside and containing competitor's name and address. Date of sending in : December 20th, 1021. Students' Competition No. 5 (limited to Students attached to the Wellington Branch only). Accommodation required : —Ground Floor : Hall with lavatory and cloaks, drawing room, dining room, study, kitchen, pantry, maid's sitting room, back staircase, laundry, fuel store, maid's w.c. First Floor : Four bedrooms, bathroom, w.c, linen, boxes, and maid's bathroom. Three bedrooms to have fireplaces. Materials. —Any materials other than wood; half timber work may be employed. Site. — level corner site with 150 feet frontage to a main road running north and. south, the north being on the left hand side when facing the section. Depth, 100 feet. There is a road running parallel with and adjoining the north boundary. Drawings Required. —Plans, sections and four elevations to Jin. scale, in ink and coloured, to be on Whatman's paper and mounted on strawboard. Block plan to smaller scale showing lay-out of site. Design. —Competitors are required to base their designs on the best English domestic work. Time. —Drawings to be sent in addressed to the District Secretary, Wellington Branch, N.Z.1.A., 7 Woodward Street, Wellington, under a nom de plume, accompanied by a sealed envelope marked with nom de flume on outside and containing competitor's name and address. Date of sending in : February 21st, 1922.
