Model Homes Competition.

A recent cable message says that the "Daily Express" offered prizes amount to 1500 guineas, in a competition for designs for model homes. From the results, which are now published, it appears that in the amateur section two New Zealand soldiers, who are studying architecture in London, have been successful. Mr. Eric Phillips, N.E.Z.F., is awarded a first prize of £IOO for a plan of a house for unskilled labourers. Another design, which possesses many interesting innovations, is by Private Horace L. Massey, Auckland Regiment. Amongst the adjudicators were Mr. Henry T. Hare, president of the 1i.1.8.A. Models of these two houses will be among those on view at the Model House Exhibition, which is to be opened by Mrs Lloyd George.
