Mr. W. McLeod, architect, of Wanganui, lias taken Mr. J. C. Brodie into partnership. The new firm are carrying on business in Fairburn and Silk's building in Wanganui. Mr. Brodie was for over 14 years supervising the works under construction for Mr. N. Meuli, contractor,. the latest work being the New Theatre designed by Mr. K. E. White. Mr. J. W. Chapman Taylor, of Wellington, leaves shortly on a trip to the Old Country.
Mr. David E. Hutton, N.8.A., A.M., Lond., who has filled positions of art master in the Dunedin School of Art, director of the Wanganui Technical School, and art master in New Plymouth Technical School, is now practising his profession of architect at his studio and home, Vivian street, New Plymouth. Mr. Hutton studied under some notable men in England, viz., Professor Lethaby and Professor .Fletcher, in architecture, and Gothic art with Professor Bidlake, of Birmingham ; while his travels in Italy, Egypt, France.and Germany have enabled him to further his studies. He passed the South Kensington School of Science in Art, Building Construction and Architecture in 1899, and was nominated free student Royal College of Art, London.
