A PATENT gives you an exclusive right to your invention for a term of fourteen years. You can sell, lease, mortgage it, assign portions of it, and grant licenses to manufacture under it. The value of a successful Patent is in no degree commensurate with the almost nominal cost of obtaining it. In order to obtain a patent it is necessary to employ a Patent Attorney to prepare the specifications and draw up claims.
