The highest honors at this year’s commencement exercises of the University of Colorado in Boulder, U.S.A., were bestowed on a nun, Sister M. Basiline, of the Order of Sisters of Charity, 8.V.M., and a teacher of Mount St. Gertrude Academy, who received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. She was the only candidate. Sister M. Basiline received the A.B. degree from Mt. St. Joseph College, Dubuque, lowa, in 1908, and the A.M. degree from the Catholic University of America, Washington, in 1914.
