WORK OF THE CATHOLIC FEDERATION.
To the Editor. Sir, —The Catholic Federation, since its establishment, has made the removal of our educational injustices its principal work. The meagre results of its work in that respect make one ask what is the Federation doing to remove these injustices ? The pupils of the Christian Brothers’ School in this city are, this yeai, debarred from attending the woodwork and swimming classes. These classes are attended weekly by the pupils of the public schools, and last year the Christian Brothers’ boys attended both classes. This year they aie deprived of that right. As far as I can ascertain, no protest has been made by the Federation. The few paltry rights conceded us by more favorable Governments than we are at present burdened with, are beiim gradually withdrawn. The fact that other centres than Dunedin are suffering the like injustices leads me to think that the Federation is not making its power felt. I am etc., John Robinson.;
