ACTION OF THE DUTCH HIERARCHY.
The united Pastoral, which the Catholic archbishop and bishops, of Holland issued, warning the faithful to
have no dealings with Socialist and Anarchist societies, now proves to have been a remarkable piece of Christian statesmanship. The action of the Dutch hierarchy in thus forwarning the Catholic people of Holland, finds its commendation in a. dispatch which the Moetshode prints: — “Sinister influences are at work to disturb order in this country. The plan is probably to foment strikes in certain industries of high importance to the community. Formerly most places possessed supplies for a considerable time. Nowadays almost daily imports of food are needed, and for this reason the transport industry is of special importance. It appears to be the plan of the anarchical elements, who are especially strong in the transport industry to bring transport to a standstill, and thus to reduce the big towns to starvation and desperation. ’’ Ccitkolic JVe ws Savvies . ,
