(From our own correspondent.) The half-yearly meeting of the local branch of the Hibernian Society was held last Tuesday night. There were sixteen members present, and the president (Mr. J. M. Deegan) presided. The secretary reported that the branch finances were in a satisfactory condition. Three candidates were proposed and accepted. The following officers were elected for the coming term:—President, Bro. S C. Horgin : vice-president, Bro. D. OSullivan ; guardian, Bro. L. Macßeynolds : warden, Bro. R. Fleming; secretary, Bro. A. 11. Brennan : treasurer, Bro. Geo. Holmes. A hearty vote of thanks to the out-going officers, especially the secretary (Bro. E. OTIanlon), terminated the meeting. The. bazaar canvassers are working quietly, but in real earnest, and are meeting with a generous response. The Hibernians intend holding a social at an early date, the proceeds to be in aid of the wounded soldiers' fund.
