Stratiimore, Taranaki. —According to competent authority, the number of persons of Irish birth or Irish origin in the United States is not less than thirty millions. W.A.Q. —A report as to the seizure of the Catholic Bishop of Lemberg has appeared in certain American papers, and also in one or two English journals, but we have seen no confirmation of the statement. We have seen no such statement in regard to the Bishop of Przemysl : and none of the reports suggested that either of these prelates had been sent to Siberia. If any such seizure as is reported took place, it may be taken as certain that the explanation is on the lines of that which you have suggested.
