Opunake
From our own correspondent. Last Sunday there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the Opunake Church. Now that Rev. Father Harnett has an assistant priest, there will be two Masses each Sunday at Opunake. Rev. Father Kelly, who has been appointed assistant priest in the Opunake parish, has taken up his duties. The weather was very inclement for the Catholic social held on St. Patrick’s Night, nevertheless, there was a good attendance. An excellent supper was provided by the ladies. The table decorations were in the hands of Miss M. Herlihy; who carried out the work in a highly artistic manner. The ladies’ committee, consisting of Mesdames Dudley, Hickey, Callaghan, Misses Green, Fleming, Herlihy, DeCastro, Fennell, Carroll, O’Brien, and Callighan, worked hard, and the success of the gathering was due to their splendid efforts.
The secretary, Mr. Alan. Brennan, had everything in good working order. The proceeds, about £25, are to be devoted to the. new church fund, V • I'CIO'
