(From-our own correspondent.) . ■ ;■; -■ * August 4.;," On Thursday next the members of the...local' Cath--olic Club journey to -Timaru : to participate in a reunion with the Timaru and Waimate Clubs.: ' The weather in Temuka at the present time points to an early spring. The absence of rain in South Canterbury has been a source of pleasure to the farmers. It is with regret I have to record the deaths of Mrs. W. Hooper, Mrs. J. Heron, and Mrs. T. Spillane, which took place during the past few days, and much sympathy is felt for the relatives.— v > •- Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament took place in St. Joseph's Church yesterday after the 10.30 o'clock Mass. In the evening Rev. Father Taylor, Marist Missionary, preached an impressive sermon to a large-con-gregation. - :;; '■■'-'
