Master Wm. P. Fennell (late of the Convent School, Hawera), was successful in winning the junior silver challenge . cup and gold medal at the Hawera Swimming Baths this season. He was also winner of a special prize last season, given, for the; most; improved boy swimmer at the baths. . 1, The members of St. Joseph's Hockey Club,. Dunedin, are practising assiduously, and some really good play was shown by all on Saturday. The secretary has been very fortunate in securing for the use of the club one of the, grounds on the Oval, and wishes to intimate That on Saturday next and following Saturdays practice will be held on the Oval at 3 p.m. sharp. At a special general meeting of the Shamrock Harrier Club, Dunedin, on Wednesday evening, it was decided to revert to the old name of St. Joseph’s Harrier Club. Mrs. Jackson was, at the recent annual meeting, re-elected a vice-president of the club. The opening run of the season takes place on Saturday from the residence of the Hon. J. B. Callan, M.L.C., Roslyn.
