Ormond

(From an occasional correspondent.) March 30. A very successful mission was given in the Orrnond parish by the Rev. Father Murray, C.SS.R. It was held in eight centres of the parish— Ormond, Tekaraka, Patutahi, Makauri, Whatatutu, Matawai, Rakaura, Te Arai. It was a great success, and there was scarcely a single Catholic in these districts who did not attend the exercises. Father Murray laid great stress on the duty of every Catholic family to subscribe to at least one Catholic paper, and spoke strongly in support of the Tablet. Parents (he said) should see that their children were supplied with wholesome Catholic books, the perusal of which would help to counteract to some extent the bad literature so easily procurable nowadays.
