Australia, and New Zealand, 1 will be one of the principal subjects for discussion at the i Imperial Conference to be held in May next,, Mr. Brady, the energetic member for St. Stephen’s Green Division of Dublin, suggests the formation of a small but representative committee, which will see that Ireland’s interests / are considered (says a Dublin correspondent). The hon. gentleman’s suggestion is an excellent one, and it is to be -hoped that no time will be lost in adopting: it, for the claims of Ireland, based upon her fine natural position, to have a voice in the shaping of any. great scheme for the linking, by rapid communication, of those distant ; parts of the ‘ Empire . with these islands, , are undeniable. An important function of the suggested committee, which ; will be composed ;of, gentlemen differing in politics, will be to consider closely the merits of the splendid harbors on the west and south-west coast of > Ireland.
