MARIST BROTHERS’ LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY, AUCKLAND
(From the club correspondent.) The annual general meeting of the Marist Brothers' Literary and Debating Society, Auckland, was held in the club rooms on March 6. The Rev. Brother Fergus presided over a good attendance of members. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— F Carrmgton, vice-president; Mr. C. McDevitt, secretary; Mr. J. 1. Dwyer editor of the Journal. These, with Mr. J. Gleeson, to form the executive committee of the society. Mr. J. McEenna was re-elected as the society's representative to the Auckland Literary and Debating Societies' Union.. Mr. Gleeson has very kindly donated a gold medal for competition m the literary work of our society. Mr Gleeson s magnificent offer is very highly appreciated by our members. Great enthusiasm was shown, and the coming year promises to be even more successful' than last. \otcs of thanks to the outgoing officers, and to the chairman for presiding brought a very successful meeting to a
