(From an occasional correspondent.) At a meeting of the South Canterbury Rugby Union held in Timaru on -Thursday last, the Athletic (Temuka Catholic) Football Club applied for affiliation to the union, which was granted. Several members present spoke in terms of praise of the energy displayed by the Cabholic Club in entering for three competitions the first season. There was a good attendance at the adjourned special meeting of footballers held in the Catholic Club rooms on March 23. It was decided to apply for affiliation to S.C. Rugby Union, and to enter three teams (senior, junior, and third grade) for the competitions. The name adopted for the club was ' Athletic,' and colors to be green and white. The election of officers resulted as follows : — President, Mr. \V. Jeffries ; vice-presidents • — Yen. Archpriest Le Menant des Chesnais, Messrs. J. P. Kalaugher, P. Wareing, M. Crannitch, J. M.
