The parish schools opened last Monday, with -a very good attendance.

The Rev. Father Treacy is away at present at Rotorua, on account of ill-health. The Rev. Father McCarthy, of Wellington, has taken his place here.

The plans for the additions to the church are being prepared by Mr. J. D. Healey, and before next summer' Father Treacy hopes to have it finished. .1 -
