LOWER HUTT CONVENT SCHOOL
Testimony to the great amount of interest taken in the work of the Sisters of Mercy among the young "people of Lower Hutt was afforded by the large gathering of parents and friends which, attended at the convent schoolon the occasion of the dispersing of the scholars for the holidays. The Very Rev. Father LaneY who presided, - referred in eulogistic terms to. the excellent work of the Sisters as evidenced in the proficiency of the" scholars and as testified to by the inspectors. ..... A lengthy programme of songs, -choruses, and ..recitations was gone through, the items being much appreciated by the visitors. During the afternoon certificates of proficiency were presented by Father Lane to K Nesdale (dux), L. Lynch, P. Patton, J. O Sullivan, N. O'Sulhvan, E. France, and J. Keo"h.
