August 17. Messrs. Htzgerald and Mulcahy- haye ' been appointed delegates of the Wellington Catholic Club on the local Amateur Athletic Association. The Masterton Trust Lands trustees have made a grant for the current year to St. Patrick's School of £26, -but could not accede to the request of the same school and . Fernridge School for grants towards their respective science -classes. , tJ.k- bUi L ding fund f ° r the erection of the Catholic Church •4t Kilbirme has been augmented by about proceeds of n!ir S °S n ? C6n^ hdd - ThG S6COnd ° ne w hel <* « O'Donnells Hall last Wednesday, when there were over 400 people picsent, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. Twohill and Master Rupert Christie contributed vocal items, and Ms Shaw gaye -a Scottish dance, Mr. Campbell playing the accom pomment on the bagpipes. Plans of the buildin| have be"n drawn up and it is proposed to start work about the beginning of November. Subscription lists are now out, and the pS toners are responding very .liberally. • ~
