New Catholic Church at Kilbirnie
The Catholics of Kilbirhie (writes our Wellington corre- ' «pondent) are to be commended for' the zeal that has inspired""' them to set about erecting a' church, a view .of which appears on this page. It will be seen that the building is' one of beautiful design, and so modelled as to meet in a fitting manner the requirements of this growing suburb. The churchf is the only one about here to bear the name of x Ireland's patron saint. The nave will measure 77ft in length by 31ft in width. with two aisles, each sft wide. It is intended later to add two' side chapels and other accommodation, which will make the edifice one of the most up to date and best appointed in the" Dominion. Mr. Yourelle is the architect. The Ven7 Archdeacon Devoy has already received a number of subscriptions from his friends throughout the Dominion to aid him in his latest laudable undertaking, and he will be pleased to acknow- ' ledge further donations.
