Westport
(From our own correspondent.) June 1. The local branch of the H.A.C.B. Society hold their seventh annual social on Friday, June 5. "*A committee of ladies have commenced collecting the monthly subscriptions of 2s 6d for the school fund, and as this system is entirely new to Westport the results will be awaited with interest. The first of the socials to be held- during the winter months for - the purpose of raising funds for the enlargement -of the school was held in the Princess Theatre on May 21. Supper was provided by the ladies' committee". *
