The object of the Mariot Fathers in this country, as in their oolleges in Europe and America, is to impart to their pupils a thoroughly Religious and a sound Litorary education, which will enable them in after-life todisoharge their duties with honour to Religion &nd Society, and with credt and advantage to themselved Students are prepared for the N.Z. University Junior an^ Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Knowedge, Bank and all other Public Examinations. Students not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Special Commercial Course, under efficient managet *it, wb.Bre they are taught all that will be of use in mercantile rsuits. Special attention iB also paid to the teaching of Physical Science, for which purpose the Colejje possesses a large Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Vocal Mime, Elocution, Drawing, and all other branches of a Liberal Education receive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor who trains the students three times a week in Drill, Sine Practice and Gymnastics. A large and well -equipped Gymnasium is attaohed to the College. The religious and moral training of the pupils iB an object of special care, and^partioular attention is be3towed on the teaohiag of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attaohed to the College is under the charge of the Sisters of Compassion, from whom in case of illness all students receive the most tender and devoted oare, and who at all times pay particular attention to the younger and more lelioate pupils, who without such oare would find the absence of home comforts very trying.
