Late Burnside Stock Report
Cattle.— 263 head forward. Prices were about the same as last week, and ruled fox good from £7 2s 6il to £8 ss. Sheep.— Owing to the' high prices ruling at the lastsale there was a large yarding of 3695. The yarding, consisted of a good proportion , of ewes and some pens of fair wethers. The prices for wethers showed a drop" of Is and of ewes 2s per head compared with last weekPrime wethers, 19s to 22s ; extra, 23s 9-d ; medium, 16s to 18s 6d ; inferior, 13s ; best ewes, 13s to 15te 6d ; extra, 22s' 6d ; medium, 11s to 12s 6d ,\ 'inferior'; 10s 6d. Lambs.— ls4,9 penned. Prices were firm a t X about last week's rates. Prime lambs, 17s to 18s 6d ; "extra, 19s*; medium, 15s to 10s Gd ; light' and 'infer or, 9s 6d to 14s. Pigs.— l2o, penned. Suckers and. slips were in good supply, and prices" eased somewhat. Suck&rs,' 9s to 11s ; slips, 14S to 18s ; stores, 21s to 25s ; porkers, 38's to 4^ ; lighl baconers, 47s to 53s ; heavy do, 55s to 59s ; choppers, up to 625.
