Oamaru
(From our own correspondent.) ' November 25. Our 45th A. and P. Annual Show has come and gone, and- the town is quiet once more. On People's Day about 10,000 were present on the new show grounds, and the exhibition was voted an all-round excellent one. Owing to numerous counter attractions the programme for last Friday at the Oamaru Catholic Club was cancelled. The club purpose holding a progressive euchre and fancy dress party on the evening of the 29th inst. As ihis will be the final euchre party of the present session a large attendance is expected. The practical music examinations under the. Associated Board of the R.A.M. and R.C.M. were held in Oamaru on Thursday last, Mr. R. Cuimmings being the examiner. The following are the results :>— Lower division (pianoforte)— Margaret Twomey (Dominican nuns), 130 (distinction). Elementary division (pianoforte)— Doris Potter, 1"24 ; Aggie Pringle, 118 ; Jane Pringle, 111 ; Rita Falconer, 111 ; and Eva Miller, 103 (all pupils of -the Dominican nuns). Primary division (pianoforte)—M. r Whillans (Miss Cartwright), 137 (distinction) ; Dolly tKelly (Dominican nuns), 136 (distinction) ; Greta Cooney (Dominican nuns), 131 (distinction) ; Elsie Fleming nuns) 5 . 121 ; K. O'Donnell (singing) (Dominican nuns), 101. - .'
