(From our own correspondent.) . -, November It. " An oratorical competition will be held by- the Young Men's Club on Thursday evening next, under the aus-. pices of the Federated Catholic Clubs. The parishioners have been invited to attend. A "very successful euchre patty wias held in St. Patrick's schoolroom on Friday evening last, in which one ' hundred and fifty person's took part. The prizes /were won toy Mrs. P. Duigan and Miss Lynn. After these were presented by Mr. Dennett, supper was handed round, and the remainder of the evening was devoted to concert items, all of which were encored. Songs were contributed by Misses Hiclsey, T. Vickers, and L. Blake, Messrs J. B. O' Sullivan and Fr Vickers, while ■recitations were gjven by Messrs. Oallagher and W. Farrelly. Miss Ruby ShattVy presided at the- piano, A very enjoyable evening 'was spent by all present, thanks to the efforts of the. secretary, Mr. _J. Hennessey The proceeds of the party. • will- "be devoted to the extension of the choir gallery in the Sacred Heart Church, to make room for the new pipe organ.
