The ceremony was performed by the. Rev. Father Moloney. Sub-Inspector O'Donovan, one of the most popular and most highly respected of our police officers, has been on holiday for the past few weeks. He resumed his duties at the Lamb ton Quay station this week, his health having been considerably improved by a visit to the Sounds District. _- . On Wednesday at the Church of St. 'Mary of the Angels, Boulcott street, Mr. William Herbert Giles, of the City Council staff, was married' to Miss A. Ready. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Father " O'Shea, S.M., V.G., assisted by the Rev. 'Fathers Holley and Yenning. I am pleased to write that the prospects for the speedy erection of a Catholic hall are_.very bright at present. In addition to the £1900 previously promised, there are two other anonymous donations of £150 and £100, also one of. £50. The fund now_ totals about £2500. It is expected to raise the required balance during the next fortnight. The young men alone will probably subscribe over £500. Other big. donations are expected .
