WEDDING BELLS
BURKE— O BRIEN. On Appl 3, a Aery pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr. P. O'Brien, Wairio, Southland, the contracting parties being Miss Nellie O'Brien, third daughter of Mr. Patrice O'Brien, to Mr. William Burke, of Clifton. The br'd?,, who was given away by her father, was prettily attir- d in a handsome costume of cream silk, trimmed with Honiton silk lace; and wore a veil with a spiay of orange blossoms. She was attended by her sister, Miss Delia O'Brien, as bridesmaid. Mr. M. O'Brien (brother of the bride) acted as •best man. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Father Walshe, of AVrey's Bush. The breakfast was laid in a large marquee, where a number of guests assembled. The usual toists were proposed and duly honored. The happy cou; le were the recipients of a large number of wedding presmts, both useful and ornamental. After the breaHast Mr.- and Mrs. Burke were driven to the station, when they left by the afternoon train, for Jnvercargill, en route' fp'f Christchurch on the honeymoon trip, taking with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends.
