(From our own correspondent..)^ April 22. A meeting of the Catholic Sports' . Committee -was held on Wednesday evening last, when the programme for the sports on Empire Day. was approved. Mr. T. Knight was elected treasurer, and after some minor matters were discussed the meeting adjourned. A meeting of the ladies interested in the sports was held on Sunday, when Mrs. J. Po-laschek' was elected to the chair. It was decided that those present should form themselves into a committee (wi h power to add to their number) to undertake the catering both at the shorts and at the conversazione in the evening. _ ■ . - The third annual, meeting of the 1 Temuka Catholic Club was held on Friday evening. There was an excellent attendance of members and great enthusiasm prevailed. The annual report . and balance sheet were read by the secretary and approved. These show that, the club is in a sound financial , position, there being a credit balance for the year- ,of £5 IPs. :The assets of the club are valued at £15 lfls, whilst there are no liabilities. The meeting, night of the club was changed from Friday to Tuesd&v everAngs, and it was decided that the meetings should open and close with prayer. It was also derided that the" members' shouldreceive Holy Communion in" a body on the first Sundays in February, May, August, and November.- The election of officers rpsrlted as follows :— Patron Rev. Father Goggan ; spirit -al director. Rev. Father Kerley; president, Mr. W. Barry ; senior vice-nresident, Mr. D. O'Halloran (all re-elected) ; junior vice-president, Mr.

Scott, E. Etnoh-, and " M. Fitzgerald. The opening night of the session takes place on April 23. After a vote of thanks'had been passed to the chairman, the meeting closed with prayer.
