Japan's war department is economical. The wornout socks, .stockings, and ot-her, hosiery used by the troops in Manchuria were sent back to JaDan to be remade into knitting yarns. These were then , e iven out tp hosiery manufactures and reknitted by machinery into underwear which was reshipped to the seat of war. c
