The sports' committee consisted of the following students :— Masters Brendan Lavery,-E. Blake, aad John Kelly. Mr. -W. Dervan ' act6d as starter and - Rev. Br-o. George as judge. Rev. Father Williams, in distributing the prizes,- congratulated the winners, .and - claamed the privilege of presenting the gold medal' for' the annual handball tournament, but l>v ancient custom that privilege .belongs to Mr. ->f.V O'Connor. The difficulty was got over by ' instituting a, junior competi- ' turn. ■ - - * The cricket season is • drawing . to a close-^only one .match to be completed, and - already * the ' "boy's- are"'' keenly -anticipating the football season," •when they are , determined to make a supreme effort to retain the secondary schools', banner.
