STRATFORD
(From our own correspondent.) The building trade is still brisk in the district. The Co-operative Works are practically closed down until after the end of this month. Our forthcoming sccial "is being anxiously looked forward to, and the success thereof is assured. A very pleasing function took place at St. Joseph's school on Tuesday, when, on the "occasion of the departure of the Rev. Mother, the pupils showed their appreciation of the; many years of care and attention bestowed upon them by presenting her with a neat hand/iyagj and otlner articles. The Rev. Mother, who has iieem transferred to Cambridgje, veryt feelingly replied, thanking the • children for their kindness. The Rev. Mother from Rangiora is expected to-morrow to take control.
