(From our own correspondent.) Tenders will soon be called for the painting and renovating of St. Patrick's Church. A social gathering is to be h&ld in the Garrison Hall in connection with St. Patrick's Day. .An expert is at present in Napier, under engagement to the City Council, to report on an electric light and power generation scheme for JNapier. Much interest is being taken here in the proceedings 'before the Chief Justice, Sir' Robert Stout, re the Waimanamia Native Lands. ■ ■ ' The foundations of the new brtok technical school which, is to cost some £4500, have now been- laid' Ihe building is being erected -immediately ouuosite St. Patricks Churoh. Up to the present the men at the big freezing works at ■ Tomoana (Nelson Bros.) or Paki Paki (Borthwick and Sons), have oiot shown signs of striking ■ A demand for 25s per hundred sheep slaughtered has been made by the men at the North British works The demand was followed by the immediate dismissal"of the spokesman of the men.
