Father Le Menant des Chesnais, V.G., blessed and opened the fine new convent for the Sisters of Mercy' at Akaroa' on" -Sunday." /' His Lordship the Right Rev. Dr. Grimes, S.M,, arrived at Sydney last week, and on. Saturday left by the ' Monbwai ' for New Zealand. Final arrangements are being made for the reception of his Lordship on Friday evening. At all the city and suburban churches on Sunday an opportunity , was afforded the various congregations to subscribe to the testimonial of which the Bishop will be the recipient, and which already is assuming goodly proportions.
