OBITUARY
MR. HENRY McERLANE, GIMMERBURN
We regret to record the death 'of Mr. Hesnry Mctrlamo, who passed away at the residence of his brother, Mr. Peter McErlane, Gimnierburn, Central Otago, on the 12th iust., at tire age of 5-8 years. The deceased wah a native of Lavcy, County Derry, and. came out to New Zealand 37 yeais ago, since when he hiaxl resided in the Mamiototo district, where he had been engaged in farming' and other : pursuits, until recently, when he went to live with his brother. The lato Mr. McErlane was a very amiable and kindhearted man, and a practical Catholic, whose purse was ever open at the call of charity or in support of the Church. He had been ailing for a considerable period during which he was constantly attended by the Rev. Father McMullan. The resipect and esteem, in which he was held, was evidenced by the very large numbers that attended the funeral, which was the 1 largest ever seen m the district. The interment tooik place at the Naseby cemetery on Saturday last. Mr. Peter McErlane, the brother of the deceased, has the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends in his bereavement.— R I. P.
