The annual examination of St. Patrick's School was conducted by the Government Inspector (Mr. Bakewell) last week. Out of 112 children presented there were only three failures, one of these being due to absence. The result reflects great credit on the Sisters of St. Bride. The weekly meeting of St. Patrick's Debating Club was held on Tuesday. Mr. B. J. Dolan presided, ami there was a good at/tendance of members A mock election was held, five candidates oflering themselves 1 , Some very interesting addresses were given. At the conclusion a vote was taken, and resulted in Mr. E. Flanagan bcttng returned at the head of the poll. At the next meeting Messrs. J. Colway and Robertson will contribute papers. The half-yearly meeting of St. Michael's branch of the 1i.A.C.8. Society was held on Tuesday evening. The president (Bro. P. O'Leary) was m the chair, and there was a large attendance. Two new members weie piopo&od. The quarterly balance sheet was presented and showed the branch to be in a very sound and flourishing condition. The past-president (Bro. W. Redmond) was presented by the president, on behalf of the members, with a framed emblem of the society, in recognition, of 'his services while president. The musical examinations in practical woik under the auspices of Trinity College (London) was conducted m Maslerton on Saturday by Mi A. Mistowsla, Mus. Bac.
