ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.
The entries in almost all departments at the Aldington Live Stock Market t i-day wetn moderate,and there was a fair attendance. Bref sold at übout latt week's rate ; prime fat ahe^p were' firmer. Fat lambs so d well, and there was a good demand for atore sheep. There was Jit tie inqui y for store cattle, a dull sale in dairy cows, ■while pigs brongat about tLe previous week's prices. Fat Lntribs. — There were about 30 fat lambs penned. Beat Bcrte sold at Ms to 245, and others 15* to 19i 6d A line of 13 from Mr John Winter, Swannanoa, made 21s Gi to 2is. F*t Shaep. — The yarding was a email one nearly all wethers, a considerable proportion b^>n°r unfininh«d. The market opened at the previous week's tates, but improved as it advanced, especially for prime sheep. Most of those in backward condition were bought by graziers 'J he range ot prices was : Prime wethers, 25s to 29s 3 l ; meomm, 22a to 2U 6d ; unfinished, 20s to 21s 6d ; prime ewes, 22i 6 l to 27. 9J ; merino wetheis— prime, 20h to 23s 4d ; good, 17a tv 19- 9 1. Calves. — A good yarding of veal oalves sold at 7a 6d to 41a.
Fat Cattle. — The entry of fat cattle totalled 163, the qua'.ity beinir very mixed. There was "good competition, and previous week's races were fully maintained. Time steers were sold on bt.half of Messrs W. and C. Farn bam (Kaiapoi; at, £S loi, and fur beifere at £5 17c 6d to £6 17s 6d. Other steer* mace £fi oh to £12 ss; heifer?, £5 17s 61 to £7 5h ; and cows, £5 10.3 to £9 ss— iqual to 24- to 26s for prime, and 21b to 23s for medium ptr lOO.b. Pigs.— There was a fairly large yarding of pipe, mostly stores. Fats sold at about the previous week's rales, aod stores were again dull of sale, baeoaers made 35s to 45a for light- weights, and up to 65s for heavy — equal to '6$ l per lb ; porkers, 22s to 37s 6d — tqual to id to 4Jd per lb : large s-tores, 18s to 21b ; medium, 15s to 17s 6d ; and weantrs, 8j 6d to 12s 6d.
