Gregorian Music.
To the Editor.
Dear Sir, —As a lower of Gregorian music I am glad to see that Ins Lordship the Bishop of Christchurch, in his Pas>toral ,is moving in the way of conforming, as far as it may b« possible in this Colony, to I'he Mo'tir Propno of our Holy Father on the subject of mii'S'io in our cihurches. I presume it will only l)e in tho larger towns that boys from our schools will bd 'drawn to form choirs as far as the treble voices go. While the clergy c.re discussing with their choirmasters what appropriate music should be procured from Home, I shall be very pleased to place at their disposal the Masses, offertory pieces, etc., mentioned at foot. They will all be found to exactly fill requirements, as the Latin words are not uselessly repeated, and there are no solos, but all beautifully harmonised music that, when properly rendered, will be found most devotional The only expense woiuld lye having one ooipy taken here, ami 'choir masters coukl then copy o.ut the number of copies their choirs* would want, as Ido not care to lend the original scores outside Welhng-ton — Yours, etc ROBERT C.
