OPOTIKI
A highly successful bazaar,, in aid of the build-, ing. fund of St>. Mary's Churchy was held in the Town HaJl,, Qpotdiki, on- the evenings of September 13 and 14. The attendance on both evenings was very large, this being... due to the excellent stock, of goods on exhibition, and the many attractions provided, and especially, to the popularity of the Rev. Father Holi>erlioeJc y who is held in the .highest esteem <hty (all classes of the community . The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion,, and presented a very gay appearance. The following is a list of the stalls'and stallholders :— Drapery stall, No* I— Mesdames D, McDonald and D. Berridge ; drapery stall, No. 2— Mrs. McGinley and the Misses McGinley ; art gallery-— Miss Maud' Kelly ; refreshment— Mrs. Fitzpatrick and the Misses Crossw>ell ; confectionery— Misses Pile*; toy and fancy stall—Misses Reid ; fish pond— Missies Enwrignt and Bigg. The bazaar was opened by the Rev, Father Hblierhoek with a few appropriate remarks During both evenings entertaining attractions — such as nail-driving and sawing comjpetitions— proved a great source of amusement to young and old. The gross results of the baaaar amounted to £120, for which much credit is due to the zeal and energy of the stallholder's' and their assistants.
