In the/ Association \ Foot;b^Il Schools' Five-aside competition at Mon-Oecillo on Saturday, the Christian Brothers' teams won both the senior and junior matches. In the senior match the Christian Brothers' team beat the College by \ to <nil, .and in the junior they won by 1 to nil. The comerlies, ' A SMgdit Mistake,' and ' Ici en Parle Fbafcoais,' whkfo were staged with much success & fbrtmi'gfhtt ago 'Wy the dramatic class of St. Joseph's Ladies' Cluh. were reproduced at St. Joseph's Ha)l on Wednesday evening, when hoth plays were even more successful than on the previous occasion. The cjuiarterly meeting of the St. Joseph's bfranfch of the H.A.C.B. Society was held on Tuesday evening, Bro. T., McDermott in the chair. The Rev. Father Coney, Adm. (tehaplain 1 ) , and a large number of members wera present. A considerable amount of routine business was transacted. One memt|>r was initiated and njve oanididates proposed. The receipts for Ihe ovening amounted to £118 3s Id. The bkz'aar at Port Chalmers in aid of the Cortvent sc-hwl building fumi was not brought to a close, as originally intended, on Saturday evening, but was kept open three days longer, termtowbing on We|dnets|rilay evening after a successful run 'cCntne days. Each evening during its continuance an attractive programme of musical items, etc., was presented and much enjoyed by the patrons of the fair. The stallholders and committee worked most energetically to insure success, awd we understand that the results on the whole are satisfactory. The domestic drama, 'My Sweetheart,' is now 'in active rdhe&rsal,, and will b<e produced in the Princess Theatre on the 27th, 28th, and 29th inst.,, in aid of the funds of the St.Vincetit de Paul Orphanage, South Dumedin. The play will be staged and mounted with gre*it completqncss, and as the principal characters will he impersonated by ladies and gentlemen of recognised dramatic ability, Jthe 'oron'uction should <be an excellent one, and well worthy of 'generous pa'tronafce, apart altogether from the very deserving nature of the object for which it is given.

Fahey dfcncfrg a faornftfpe. Needless to say, all the items were much anpreciated. The Girls' Chib deserve great credit for tfhe way in which they carried out their duties in making everyone heartily welcome and thoroughly enjoy themselves with the evening's amuseincut*.
