O'Connor, the young Irish-New Zealander, who won the Dunlop Road Race recently, and also pufc u-p fastest time, is a native of Cricklewoiod, in the rarish of Fairhe. The choir held a -meeting last week to discuss the c hjanpneis m Church music. Rev Father Finnerty agreed to teach the liturgical chants, giving the membeis one losson each week. There promises to be a keen contest here next election between 'the lion. W. Hall-Jones and Mr. Rollest'on, the latter, being on the spot, is working \ery hard, and has got a strong committee of ladies making a house to house canvass. The Hon. Mr. Hall-Jones arrived here by Saturday's express, aud will soon liiaVo a counter movement started. Thoi Marist Brothers' football team arc winners of the Scuth CaJntorlnrry schools' banner for 1905. This is tilio first year they have competed for it, and: altho\upfn they were rather sharply treated by one or two schools, they managed 'to score 110 points against 3, in six games. The team deserve great praise for the fine spirit in which they played during tlie season.
